New Composition: Deceptive Recourse

by Calebovich 18 Apr, 2016 has no comments yet!

Hello there! I thought I would break the silence after an extremely long respite from writing in my blog by posting some of my newest work. For the past few years I have been honing my orchestration skills and studying a lot of great orchestral compositions by the composers like Ravel, Beethoven, and Samuel Barber. There has always been something about these composer’s that is so powerful, so these three were my starting point. Who knows where all of this effort will lead, but I certainly hope that it will equip me to that write new music with more complex textures and counterpoint.

Deceptive Recourse is a short, quasi cinematic piece that is exactly what the title describes. Since I don’t want to describe each of event of the piece like a musicologist, I encourage you to listen and let me know what you think in the comment section below. There is more music that I want to share over the next few months, so sit tight and thanks for reading.

Until next time…
